Download Festival 2006
Digital Antics were proud to support Download 2006 by providing SMS and MMS to Screen technology in the form of Mobile Messages to Screen (MMTS) to XL Video fulfilling the requirement to collect, collate and display text and photo messages on the big screens.
Amidst the grime and heat of Donington Park and one of the hottest summers in recent years, revellers spent their hard earned cash on beverages, junk food and text messages.
The content displayed to the big screens was separated into two sections: a constantly running ticker of text messages along the bottom and alternating band video and photo messages on the larger upper section. SMS and MMS messages were vetted continuously through out the three days so as not to offend anyone!
Both MMTS and the Ticker ran on separate PCs, the individual VGA feeds being combined by the in-house video production team and the final split screen display powered by the two large LED screens.
Digital Antics’ operators Craig Edwards and Jason Root were on hand over the course of the weekend to operate the system and ensure things ran smoothly.
