When Harry Met Sally
XL Video contracted Digital Antics to design, develop and install a reliable video show control system on behalf of their client Jon Driscoll at the Theatre Royal in London’s West End. The show stars Alyson Hannigan and Luke Perry.
Working closely with project manager Paul Wood at XL the team from Digital Antics put together a robust embedded control solution to satisfy the clients’ requirements for reliability and repeatability.
An AMX system based around the solid state, ethernet enabled NXI-ME260 central processor was the obvious choice. This system allowed us to accept MIDI cues from the Aura Show Control-supplied ShowMan show controller to then trigger the XL-supplied video playback devices.

- 2 x Doremi V1D MJPEG DDR (via ethernet)
- 2 x Digital Video Systems (DVS) Blade II Pro MPEG2 DDR (via contact closure)
- 1 x MicroVideo KY-200 SDI Keyer/Mixer (via RS422)
- 2 x BARCO G5 Projector (power and shutters via RS232)
- 2 x NEC XT5000 Projector (power and shutters via RS232)
