Provides a solution for moderating and presenting live tweets to screen. It is built on Microsoft desktop technologies and designed for robust operation in a live show environment. Unlike other solutions the Tweet Presenter is not based around a website interface. All components run as native Windows applications.
The system consists of two components: - Console: Usually run on a laptop or tablet computer. Maintains a direct connection to Twitter's internet servers to receive incoming tweets from primary identity as well as those directed to them. The user interface allows the operator to quickly approve or 'trash' tweets as they come in from the public. Tweets from the primary identity go straight to screen. In use with Eddie Izzard this often took less than a second from him pressing Send on his iPhone to them appearing on screen (yes, you read that correctly!).
- Graphics Output: Runs on a dedicated desktop / server computer back-stage as a dedicated graphics appliance. The output is generally scan converted in order to feed a Portable Production Unit (PPU) or screen switching system.
The Console controls the Graphics Output over a local area network using TCP/IP. As seen at...- Eddie Izzard's Stripped Tour (Europe & USA - 2009, 2010). The show for which we originally developed the software in collaboration with Malcolm Mellows at XL Video (UK).
